乙二醇二甲醚（C?H10O?）是一種無色透明液體，又稱1,2-二甲氧基乙烷、二甲基溶纖劑、Glyme、monoglyme、dimethyl glycol、ethylene glycol dimethyl ether、dimethyl cellosolve和DME，是一種無色透明液體，具有乙醚氣味。它溶于水、乙醇、乙醚、氯仿等溶劑。乙二醇二甲醚化學性質(zhì)穩(wěn)定，廣泛應用于聚合物化學、電化學、硼化學工藝等領域，以及作為樹脂、硝化纖維素等的溶劑。沸點高于乙醚和THF，常被用作那兩種的替代品。此外，乙二醇二甲醚與雙齒配體反應形成螯合物，可用于有機金屬化學反應，如格林納試劑、還原氫化反應、鈴木反應和施蒂勒反應等。乙二醇二甲醚是最低能量、最穩(wěn)定的構(gòu)象，而非對位交叉式構(gòu)象。

乙二醇二甲醚(DME)是一種帶有醚味的水白色中性液體，性質(zhì)穩(wěn)定，不易發(fā)生反應，能溶解各種樹脂和纖維素，并能與水和許多醇，酮，酯等有機溶劑以任意比例混溶，其溶解能力可以通過水或某些溶劑作適當稀釋來調(diào)節(jié)。DME是一種性能優(yōu)良的非質(zhì)子極性溶劑，除了用作氣體吸收劑，萃取劑和脫漆劑外，還可以用于以下化學領域。用于電化學：由于DME的特殊結(jié)構(gòu)，可替代水作非水溶液電解質(zhì)溶劑，用于電化學設備，充電電池及有機化合物電解反應等。
比如：苯，四丁基溴化銨，DME的水溶液體系進行電解反應，可制得純度為百分之九十六的1,4二羥基苯。制備硼化學： DME作為溶劑，可用于制得硼，硼氫化物，多硼氫化合物，多硼氫酸鹽等多種硼衍生物。比如；三烷基硼化物和氫化鋁鈉在DME中反應，制得的硼氫化鈉純度高，顆粒大。制備有機金屬化合物： DME是有機金屬反應的重要試劑，可用于制備銻，硒，錫，鈦，錸，鐵，釕等有機金屬化合物。用于高分子材料的聚合反應；用作清洗劑復配物；用于有機化合物及醫(yī)藥中間體的合成等。

一、健康危害
侵入途徑：吸入、食入、經(jīng)皮吸收。
健康危害：口服引起惡心、嘔吐、腹絞痛、虛弱、昏迷。具有刺激性。
二、毒理學資料及環(huán)境行為
刺激性：家兔經(jīng)眼：50mg，中度刺激。家兔經(jīng)皮開放性刺激試驗：500mg，輕度刺激。
危險特性：易燃，遇明火、高熱易引起燃燒爆炸。與氧化劑能發(fā)生強烈反應。接觸空氣或在光照條件下可生成具有潛在爆炸危險性的過氧化物。其蒸氣比空氣重，能在較低處擴散到相當遠的地方，遇明火會引著回燃。
燃燒(分解)產(chǎn)物：一氧化碳、二氧化碳。

一、泄漏應急處理
迅速撤離泄漏污染區(qū)人員至安全區(qū)，并進行隔離，嚴格限制出入。切斷火源。建議應急處理人員戴自給正壓式呼吸器，穿消防防護服。盡可能切斷泄漏源，防止進入下水道、排洪溝等限制性空間。小量泄漏：用活性炭或其它惰性材料吸收。也可以用大量水沖洗，洗水稀釋后放入廢水系統(tǒng)。大量泄漏：構(gòu)筑圍堤或挖坑收容；用泡沫覆蓋，降低蒸氣災害。用防爆泵轉(zhuǎn)移至槽車或?qū)Ｓ檬占鲀?nèi)，回收或運至廢物處理場所處置。
二、防護措施
呼吸系統(tǒng)防護：高濃度蒸氣接觸可佩戴過濾式防毒面具(半面罩)。
眼睛防護：一般不需要特殊防護，高濃度接觸時可戴化學安全防護眼鏡。
身體防護：穿防靜電工作服。
手防護：戴乳白色膠手套。
其它：工作現(xiàn)場禁止吸煙、進食和飲水。工作畢，淋浴更衣。注意個人清潔衛(wèi)生。
三、急救措施
皮膚接觸：脫去被污染的衣著，用肥皂水和清水徹底沖洗皮膚。
吸入：迅速脫離現(xiàn)場至空氣新鮮處。保持呼吸道通暢。如呼吸困難，給輸氧。如呼吸停止，立即進行人工呼吸。就醫(yī)。
食入：飲足量溫水，催吐，就醫(yī)。
滅火方法：盡可能將容器從火場移至空曠處。噴水保持火場容器冷卻，直至滅火結(jié)束。處在火場中的容器若已變色或從安全泄壓裝置中產(chǎn)生聲音，必須馬上撤離。滅火劑：抗溶性泡沫、干粉、二氧化碳、砂土。
